Epocrates seeks an experienced Training Senior Manager to help build a world-class user training experience for our new Electronic Health Record product targeted at health care professionals. The person should have a demonstrated ability to identify key learning objectives and then develop, implement, monitor and refine training programs that meet those objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position will include all facets of promoting end user adoption of Epocrates electronic health record enterprise software.
Specifically, the Training Director will:
- Develop an end-user training vision and experience that promotes user adoption of the electronic health record and supports company business objectives
- Oversee Epocrates EHR Resource center as a mechanism to publish and distribute web-based learning materials
- Plan course design and support documentation for complete user drive and instructor-led remote training programs
- Focus on eLearning solutions and promote user-driven learning where possible
- Direct the activities of customer training in the operation of company products.
- Ensure training program(s) meets company and customer objectives.
- Maintain communication with customers to ensure effectiveness of training.
- Maintain high level of product knowledge and use
- Work with the sales, marketing, delivery and support teams to identify primary training needs for physicians and their office staff
- Identify training tactics and develop training materials that may include webinars, videos, user guides and other tutorials.
- Work with product management team to assess success of training program overall and application features that require additional training support
- Work with third-parties, as needed, to develop unified training experience across vendors
- Manage external vendors, such as instructional designers and technical writers, to create a best in class end user training experience
- Become an advocate for user experience and user adoption of product
- Work with cross-functional teams from marketing, business development, engineering, QA, and technical support to refine the end user experience / product vision
- Develop metrics, monitor results, and manage improvements to user adoption throughout product lifecycle
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience defining and delivering excellent end user training programs for software products and services to a large number of customers
- Experience developing or managing development of training materials and other user assistance content
- Professional experience in the following areas:
o Online learning and adult education principles
o Instructional design principles
o Learning Management systems
o ELearning best practices
o Enterprise software, especially SaaS
o Health Care IT / Electronic Health Records
o Business operations and process excellence
o Webinar technology and overseeing webinar programs
o Monitoring user behavior and feedback
- Excellent communication, facilitation and project management skills
- Ability to understand and assess customer experience and impact of user interface design
- Skilled with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong analytical skills
- Team-oriented, willing to work hard
- Domain experience in health care is desirable
