Job Overview:
As Senior Manager of Engagement and TripIt Pro Marketing, you will develop the marketing strategy and plan to engage and retain TripIt?s free members, drive conversions to TripIt Pro (premium service), and retain TripIt Pro members.
You?ll be responsible for devising and implementing the marketing strategy and plan to deliver the engagement, retention, and revenue goals for TripIt and TripIt Pro. You will work with internal teams (including Marketing, Advertising, Business Development, Product, Engineering, and Customer Service) to launch campaigns and initiatives. You will also identify external marketing partners and collaborate with them to create mutually beneficial co-marketing programs and promotions. You will oversee the direct marketing channel and should have a good grasp of email marketing at a strategic level.
You are a strong strategist who also enjoys rolling up your sleeves to execute at a tactical level. You have strong analytic abilities as well; you dig into the numbers to uncover new opportunities and are diligent about measuring the ROI of your initiatives.
You will manage and mentor the Direct Marketing Manager and you will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities:
Develops marketing objectives, strategies, plans, and budget to engage/retain TripIt members and convert/ retain TripIt Pro members.
Partners with other members of marketing team to improve and enhance overall consumer experience for TripIt as brought to life through all marketing efforts.
Oversees the direct marketing program focused on delivering a best-in-practice email marketing program to engage/retain TripIt members, convert/retain TripIt Pro members, and support other marketing initiatives and business needs. Develops Direct Marketing Manager.
Collaborates with Product team and Advertising team on engagement opportunities in-product for TripIt and TripIt Pro.
Collaborates with Product team and Advertising team to identify in-product cross-sell/upsell opportunities for TripIt Pro.
Executes marketing partnerships and promotions to engage/retain free members and acquire/retain TripIt Pro members with brands aligned with our positioning. Partners with Business Development and Advertising where appropriate.
Manages TripIt Pro promotions, trial offers, and related collateral for conferences, events etc.
Partners with PR/social team to drive positive awareness, media coverage, and WOM among key influencers, analysts, and the media through media and social channels for TripIt Pro.
Directs internal search marketing team on online marketing acquisition for TripIt Pro (SEM and SEO).
Collaborates with Consumer Marketing Manager on NPS analysis and other marketing research.
Manages on-going marketing performance analysis and optimization.
Fields, analyzes, and reports on Annual Customer Survey.
Owns on-going customer insight and analysis for TripIt Pro? feeding this back into all marketing and organizational efforts to ensure the company remains in tune with TripIt Pro needs, pain points, and satisfaction.
Continually refine/update all standard messaging, positioning, and collateral for TripIt Pro.
Partners with and supports ad sales organization on partner campaigns and promotion opportunities.
Oversees database requirements for direct marketing and collaborates with Marketing Analyst and Director of Customer Insights/Analysis on future data analysis and requirements.
Collaborates with R&D and Product/Program Management to develop a product roadmap that will delight consumers and drive innovation.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience & Training required:
Bachelor?s degree required, MBA preferred
8+ years in Marketing, Product/Program Management, Product Marketing roles
3+ years Management experience
Relevant experience in consumer marketing at a fast growing internet or cutting edge technology service company
Track record of building and driving successful marketing strategies, plans, and results
Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Experience in direct/email marketing, engagement marketing, and partner marketing
Direct report hiring, managing and mentoring experience
Experience marketing a freemium product offering preferred
Strong interpersonal skills ? able to motivate and drive other organizations without direct authority over those organizations
Extremely resourceful ? leveraging all resources both internal and externally to drive business performance
Extremely strong project/program management skills
Experience developing strategic business and marketing plans.
