Senior Manager, Fleet & Logistics Zipcar

Zipcar is seeking an exceptional talent to run its New York/New Jersey fleet, representing the largest car sharing operations in the world. The Senior Manager, Fleet & Logistic will work with his or her team to provide an outstanding in-vehicle, reservation experience while minimizing operating costs and service downtime.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
Help develop and implement scalable fleet systems which enable the NY Fleet Department to efficiently coordinate hundreds of weekly tasks on several thousand vehicles.
Continuously improve fleet operations for optimal financial and operational performance as measured by COGS, vehicle uptime, gross margin, member survey scores and other key metrics.
Maintain diligent adherence to budgeted financial and operating metrics, including diagnoses of past variances and forecasts of potential upcoming issues and opportunities.
Manage the synergies between two unique brands (Zipcar and Avis/Budget) to maintain profit and loss efficiencies for fleet.
Continuously improve fleet practices and systems to ensure that, without exception, vehicles are safe, clean and available for use when and where reserved.
Work tirelessly to identify, understand and then eliminate any service issues which negatively affect member experience.
Provide thought leadership on fleet and operations processes for special projects as needed.
Onboard local vendors and suppliers to minimize maintenance, cleaning and staffing costs.
Provide frequent performance updates to Zipcar?s local and global Leadership Team.
Lead a well-functioning, skilled, engaged and retained team of four managers and over forty associates.
Develop action plans with area fleet managers to improve fleet KPIs.
Provide onboarding and ongoing support and training for area managers to ensure performance and compliance to established SOPs.
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:
Demonstrated success in leading operational excellence and business process re-engineering. Ability to produce enduring, effective solutions to business problems through benchmarking, project management, and analytical problem solving.
Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills
Experience setting up and executing $100K+ service contracts.
Minimum 5 years? experience of progressive fleet or logistics management experience
Strong process orientation and attention to detail.
Ability to manage diverse goals and multiple, concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Bachelor?s degree or higher.
Eligibility for Zipcar membership.
Six Sigma green belt certification preferred but not required.
