Provide leadership for all Manufacturing Test Engineering in support of the Manufacturing, Engineering and Smart Grid Services organizations. This starts with the successful introduction and start-up of new products into manufacturing. Lead a Manufacturing team of Test Development Engineers, and coordinate with development engineering, NPI Engineering, Reliability Engineering , and Supplier Quality Engineering, strategic development partners, suppliers, and CMs to achieve new product quality, cost, and reliability goals. Working with Program Management, Product Management, and Engineering, contribute to developing new business processes for managing SSN PLC/NPI activities. For products released to CM production, assure they meet objectives for cost, quality, yields, throughput, and field performance, as related to test. Support continuous test process improvements, supplier and CM performance. Develop and provide engineering support to a global manufacturing strategy. Develop CM capacity planning and CAPEX plans.
Develop clear roles and responsibilities and performance expectations for all members of the team. Institute improved project management and accountability.
Drive development of production test strategy required at CMs. Follow up with Continuous Process Improvement at CMs to achieve improved cost, quality, throughput, and performance objectives.
Develop, on an annual basis, an SSN Manufacturing Test Roadmap that meets new product design requirements imposed by new component technology. This should be done working with SSN Engineering, CMs, PC Fab and component suppliers.
Develop prioritization and resourcing to provide new product test plans and new process introductions at CMs.
Develop and execute Manufacturing Test Plans, with documentation, trouble shooting, and procedures for all products. Train CMs.
Develop tools in support of test data analysis and develop automation to support meter and third party partners? manufacturing.
Incorporate new manufacturing Design For Test (DFT) requirements into the appropriate design guidelines.
Assure sufficient manufacturing and test capacity at CMs in order to meet customer commitments. Develop CAP EX plan on a Quarterly basis.
Implement and enhance RMA test capabilities at CMs.
Provide test technical support in resolving all product related issues, RMA issues, warranty reserves analysis, and corrective action and reporting.
Support timely field failure analysis back into SSN Engineering and CMs.
Implement next generation test platform for CMs.
Incorporate SSN strategic business priorities and product roadmaps as they affect PLC/NPI execution and tradeoffs.
Provide guidance and career development to your team to achieve increased responsibility and career advancement.
BSEE. Advanced technical or business degree preferred.
Experience as an engineer in Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, or NPI Engineering, in a high volume manufacturing environment.
RF and advanced telecommunication technical experience is a high want.
At least five years experience as a manager of Manufacturing Test Engineering team, in support of a contract manufacturing business model.
Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, personnel development, all within a fast paced business environment.
Results driven, team player, with demonstrated success in complex cross functional project and program management.
Willingness to travel US and international, approximately 15% of the time.
