Job Description
Provide technical and business leadership for all of Silver Spring Networks in the area of Product Data Management. Understand and support the needs of diverse customer base consisting of HW, FW, and SW Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, Sales and Order Entry, and Manufacturing. Drive change management and configuration management initiatives. Provide systems and process support to accelerate new product development and communications with Contract Manufacturers and suppliers. Preside over CCB (Change Control Board) meetings and drive rapid time-to-volume manufacturing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Product Data Governance
Product Life Cycle management
Product structure strategy
Work with Product Management on Product Change Notice strategy for customers
Work with Order Management on new product releases
Support End of Life strategy
Enforce and apply Product Hierarchy for reporting purposes
Work with Legal to maintain appropriate product data records for escrow
Change Management (CCB)
Develop and maintain change management strategy, process, and tools
Train cross functional groups as processes and tools change
Measure PDM performance for communication with SSN and to drive continuous improvement
Bill of Materials/ Item Master Governance
Develop and evolve BOM structure strategy
Ownership of item master attributes
Track item status used in product life cycle
Product Data Configuration / Maintenance
Support product shipment and RMA Marriage file imports with third party partners and customers
Manage construction of configuration and implementation of Product/Item data required for serial number tracking and field based identification and Installed Base database
Interface with partners and suppliers to resolve issues and accelerate time to volume
Support IT infrastructure (Agile PLM) and the User community
Agile administrator
Provide training and helpdesk support
Required Skills
Ability to ?hit the ground running? in an Agile PLM/Oracle EBS environment.
Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle /Product Change Management processes
Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and web based communications with CMs
Experience with BOM Structuring and principles of Product Configuration Management
Strong organizational, analytical and negotiating skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Excellent communication skills, written & verbal
Ability to influence direct reports as well as stake holders/ users throughout the organization.
Ability to work well with people with varied requirements and compressed schedules.
Required Experience
Bachelor?s Degree from a four-year college or university; 10+ years related experience
Product Data Management user/trainer in a manufacturing/engineered product environment
Experience as an Agile Administrator (PC)
Experience in executing cross functional initiatives & strategic planning
Experience in Managing Documentation Control in a high tech environment.
