Job Description
Be part of the team that helps our utility partners and prospects shape and justify smart grid solutions, helping to improve the environment, provide more reliable electric service, and become more efficient with operations.
Key responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales and global development in a ?strategic sales? role, shaping the selling approach, proposed solution, and business case justification ? engaging with customers and prospects at multiple levels, from CEOs to Smart Grid analysts
Consult with potential US and global customers to articulate Smart Grid benefits, trends, case studies, and learnings ? helping them articulate and shape their smart grid projects, while positioning the benefits of using the Silver Spring platform
Engage with customers and prospects on developing smart grid business cases, smart grid visions, customer engagement strategies and smart grid strategic roadmaps ? providing insights from industry experience as well as helping clients execute on deliverables
Develop Silver Spring?s market strategy for existing and new Smart Grid solutions, including building solution go-to-market strategy, business plan, solution architecture, and value proposition to productize new solutions with product management, market development, and strategic alliances teams
Evaluate and assess corporate development opportunities (e.g., alliances, JVs, investments) and their impact on Silver Spring
Provide cross functional support to global development, sales, product management, engineering, marketing, finance, and other departments as required to support company initiatives on an ad hoc basis
Required Experience
4+ years of experience developing businesses, building business cases, interacting with customers, doing product management, and/or developing strategic plans
Strong analytic background, able to think deeply about business, regulatory, and technical issues and their interactions
Strong and flexible communication skills, able to communicate with both a technical and executive audience interchangeably
Self-starter, well organized, flexible, and motivated to grow Silver Spring?s business
Ability to manage projects, including cross functional teams, to meet tight deadlines and through significant uncertainty
Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Top tier MBA (or equivalent education/experience) and undergraduate degree required
(preferred) Experience at top tier management consulting company
(preferred) Knowledge of utility business model, current issues, Smart Grid trends, networking technology, and ability to learn technology quickly
