The individual in the Senior Market Insights and Analytics position will own the analytical and research efforts to support acquisition, retention, service quality, innovation/product development and strategic/business initiatives within the organization. We are seeking a strong professional who understands how big data ?works?, and more importantly, how it affects the marketplace.
You will drive the activity to build systems and processes to initiate, collect, combine, analyze and translate market-based data (sales, customer data, web traffic, academic, testing, brand measures, competitive, etc.) into brief but comprehensive insights to help senior leaders understand the state of the business. Your ability to design and implement a predictive data approach through statistical analysis, modeling and strategic execution will enable the organization to identify opportunities for growth and inform future decisions. This will culminate in the design of a new marketing dashboard; the canvas and core status platform for the direction of new business and marketing development.
This position requires a demonstrated background in market research and analysis. The successful candidate will exhibit a high confidence level in clearly communicating (verbally and written) key market insights to senior management to inform and recommend strategic and tactical decisions that drive business growth, and will drive project meetings built around those objectives. The success of this position will require a high degree of cross-functional collaboration with other senior level marketing team members, finance, sales, customer support and external business partners.
This candidate must have experience working with CRM-driven tools and large data sets in a data warehouse environment. They will possess knowledge and experience in evaluating, selecting and using a variety of marketing automation and analytics tools (e.g. Marketo, Hubspot, SAS, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.).
Analyze pipeline and closed revenue to identify the key lead generation vehicles for driving incremental revenue and market share
Establish ROI for marketing programs to drive investment decisions by identifying big trends and recommending opportunities.
Streamline lead management and CRM systems to ensure integration between marketing programs, pipeline and closed revenue
Engage the web services team to ensure that all website and incoming email leads are tracked in the lead management system.
Develop and monitor key data-driven metrics for programs that enable strategy through analysis.
Promote continuous learning and innovation cycles to generate ongoing insight into effectiveness.
Coordinate customer advisory board; sales council focus groups and other methods to collect qualitative insights for continuous improvements
Source, direct and manage vendor partner relationships and initiatives to identify information through research for further business development
Ensure timely execution of all research projects within defined budgets and prepare detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management.
Collect, analyze and manage brand insights (whether purchased, acquired from strategic partners or derived from studies in and outside our company.)
Initiate brand studies: Awareness tracking, Opportunity Study, Advertising copy testing, media analytics, etc.
Oversee end-market studies including core industries, and emerging geographies and markets.
Synthesize web analytics to guide ongoing modifications to web presence in support of sales and growth targets through the online channel.
Develop a quarterly dashboard of market measures that can be communicated to senior leaders.
Collect and aggregate social media and other ?brand monitoring? metrics.
Bachelor's degree and related advanced studies and analytical skills required - MA, MS or MBA Preferred
Five (5) to Seven (7) years? experience of relevant strategic planning, business planning, business development, market research and/or business intelligence.
Broad experience in the key functional areas of market research, including design and analysis of primary market research, secondary data analyses and models, and forecasting models/techniques related to new product launch.
Extensive experience in market research technologies, database management, models and analyses.
Experience leading the development of market research initiatives.
Knowledge of new product development life cycle and the role of market insights in this process. Specific experience in corporate innovation initiatives a plus.
Ability to work cross-functionally and be able to effectively influence and partner. Must relate well to all levels, listen and build constructive relationships, and use diplomacy and tact.
Excellent analytical capabilities including Excel and database skills. Experience with in-depth data modeling as well as demonstrated analytical and statistical problem solving skills, including data handling skills and relational database programming. SQL or MS Access experience is a plus
