POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced marketing professional for the position of Senior Marketing Manager to support the commercial organization. The Senior Marketing Manager/Director will be responsible for marketing activities for the product line of new assays and platforms in the Infectious Disease market. The individual will lead the process from concept definition to commercialization, working on a global basis. This includes assessing existing and potential markets, developing product strategies, forecasts, definition of promotional activities and planning and implementing product launches. This is a critical position developing commercial strategies and launch plans for innovative tests that detect. Characterize and diagnose infectious diseases. Interaction at all levels within the customer?s organization and the OpGen commercial team is required to drive demand for our proprietary technology. Experience in the diagnostics market is required.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop and execute marketing plan for Infectious Disease HAI Market in alignment with company goals
Responsible for development and implementation of the overall downstream marketing strategy and plans, including product, application and channel strategy and plans to further the company?s revenue and profit objectives
Through the use of primary and secondary market research, develop product pipelines that are analyzed to assess revenue potential versus development and commercialization costs.
Work closely with research team to establish priorities to provide specific clinical evidence and claims for products with publication as the end result.
Develop strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and appropriately integrate learning?s into product definitions
Develop metrics that evaluate the return on marketing investments against pre-established objectives. Work closely with Program Management to establish priorities, identify new product opportunities
Develop tradeshow plan and ensure optimal execution and manage the lead generation process. Webinars? Meeting presentations and workshops?
Manage and maintain a highly effective web site.
Work with internal research and development to ensure that products and services meet customer needs.
Support the needs of the sales organization
EDUCATION/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
Must be able to utilize appropriate techniques to analyze information and make sound technical and business decisions.
Works well independently, knows when to ask for clarifying questions
MT (ASCP-BOR) preferred, not required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to effectively articulate complex, technical information across a wide audience.
Excellent interpersonal skills required. The ability to successfully interact with co-workers, hospital and laboratory management and vendors is critical.
BA / BS in a scientific discipline; MBA preferred
7 + years in clinical diagnostics marketing role with assays used in Molecular Biology and Microbiology applications preferred
Experience at large corporations and start-up experience is a plus
Experience marketing to physicians and clinicians
Strong strategic and execution skills
Able to convert product/customer feedback into valuable insights that can help drive the development of new marketing programs or products
Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals or other related materials
Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate information to top management, team members and the scientific community
