Senior Marketing Manager, Equine Health SmartPak

The Senior Marketing Manager, Equine Health will be the business leader for SmartPak?s 3rd party supplement business, and additionally, will own SmartPaks new customer acquisition programs. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for business management on the 3rd Party business segment (pricing, SKU optimization, etc.), all 3rd Party promotions, both internal and vendor-related/co-op, and will own the marketing relationship with our 3rd party supplier partners. He/she will also lead the charge to reach new customer bases with a compelling message.
The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing and business management background in retail, CPG, or durables, and will have experience working with external partners, agencies, or vendors.
Knowledge of the equine industry or riding background is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
? Drive SmartPaks new customer acquisition
o Develop and execute marketing plans to acquire new SmartPak customers, including identifying and testing new vehicles, new customer bases, new market segments, etc.
o Analyze ROI of new marketing initiatives, specifically related to acquisition
o Develop lifecycle marketing programs to power SmartPak customer conversion
? Own and Manage 3rd Party supplement business, both in SmartPaks and in buckets
o Maximize the business results of 3rd Party products
? Identify opportunities to strategically grow 3rd Party business through products and promotion
o Development and execution of annual marketing plans for 3rd Party business
o SKU Optimization: Create criteria for, evaluate, and make decisions on stocking all 3rd Party products, especially as it relates to SmartPaks acquisition
o Pricing: work with Merchandising to optimize our costs and the price to consumers, both to drive internal profitability and to position us well versus competition
? Own and manage 3rd party supplement marketing ? buckets and SmartPaks
o Work with Merchandising team to support our 3rd party supplement vendor relationships
? Meet with vendors to develop mutually beneficial marketing plans
? Analyze ROI on 3rd party marketing campaigns
? Identify opportunities to participate in / partner with vendors on their promotions and advertising
o Plan and execute all 3rd party marketing initiatives
? Offline: Promotions, package inserts, catalog features, etc.
? Online: email campaigns, website promotions, retailer tagging
? External: Retail store events, other trade shows/events
o Manage 3rd party supplement information on the website and in the catalog
? Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
? B.A.; Marketing or related major a plus; MBA preferred
? Minimum 3 years of marketing or other business experience, preferably working with external partners: vendors, agencies, etc.
? High level of professionalism and business judgment, especially when dealing with external partners
? Excellent project management skills: Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others to accomplish key goals; can manage deadlines across functions and projects; detail-oriented
? Strong analytic skills: Can identify key factors driving business results and analyze them. Advanced Excel and basic SQL knowledge helpful, but not necessary
? Self-starter: Ability to set individual project goals/objectives, create plans to achieve those goals, and execute the plan with guidance from manager. Takes ownership of and responsibility for the business
