We are looking for a talented mechanical engineer to perform duties requiring the application of mature professional engineering knowledge. The ideal candidate would have a scope for individual accomplishment and coordination of difficult assignments. Senior Mechanical Engineer 1 deals with problems for which it may be necessary to modify established guides and devise new approaches highlighting the potential risks and benefits of the modification.Specific Job Requirements:
Ability to solve advanced technical problems relevant to haptic/HID actuator devices.
Undersanding of structural dynamics and analytical and computational analysis methods for characterizing structural dynamics.
Working knowledge of vibration measurements using accelerometers and a laser Doppler vibrometer.
Working knowledge of electro-active materials (i.e. piezoceramic, electroactive polymers, etc.).
Working experience with FEA software, preferably using Marc Mentat from MSC.
Working experience with SolidWorks CAD software. Working experience with Matlab and Labview are a plus.
Working experience with rapid prototyping and other fabrication techniques for realizing designs as hardware. Ability to work in a fabrication shop with machine tools.
Desire and ability to apply new engineering approaches and techniques to the design and development of innovative products and processes.
Ability to make accurate and feasible engineering and business judgements.
Understanding of intellectual property (IP) processes and ability to translate technical ideas into IP claims.
Demonstrates the desire to contribute to the success of the business objectives.
