Senior Mechanical Engineer Ruckus Wireless

As a member of the Mechanical Engineering Design team, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, testing, performanceand documentation of wireless networking products. These products are high-volume and all manufacturing is done in Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design from concept to production of plastic and metal enclosures for networking products intended for indoor and outdoor environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Take ownership of assigned mechanical design projects from start to finish
Design and document mechanical systems utilizing 3D CAD tool (Solidworks)
Design complex, multi-PCB, environmentally and EMI sealed natural convection cooled high power density assemblies
Gather and organize design requirements from engineering and management
Design and conduct tests to verify system performance under varied environmental conditions (temperature, humidity,vibration, shock, etc.) and ensure that product safety requirements are met
Produce fabrication drawings for all parts and oversee tooling and prototype builds
Generate and populate BOM structures using the Arena PDM tool
Present and review design data with internal and external customers
Work closely with Product Design team, Product Marketing, outside industrial design and ODM partners to design newproducts or customization of existing products
Take leadership role to insure project goals of performance, cost and schedule are met
Manage outside consultants and fabrication vendors
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
5 to 10 years engineering design and analysis experience of wired and wireless indoor and outdoor networkinghardware.
Thorough understanding of the design and manufacturing processes for high-volume plastic, diecast aluminum andsheet-metal assemblies
Ability to estimate costs and analyze schedules accurately
Extensive experience with 3-D CAD design
Working knowledge of a CFD analytical tool (CF Design/FlowSim/Flotherm) and an FEA tool (Ansys/Mechanica)
Ability to work in a high intensity, lightly-structured environment
Experience working with external suppliers in Asia and elsewhere
In-depth knowledge of Solidworks software - demonstrable skills in creating complex surfaces and parts, assemblies anddrawings
Proven ability and willingness to take ownership of project; ability to get the job done with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Start-up attitude essential
