Senior Mechanical Engineer Advanced Electron Beams

Description:Design, develop and review mechanical systems and subsystems -- from concept definition and layout through design detailing. This will include conceiving of your own solutions for presenting a wide variety of products at high speed to our modular hermetically-sealed electron beam emitters. It will also include designing, building and testing turnkey x-ray shielded ebeam systems to be used in a variety of customer applications.
To accomplish the above, you will need to obtain input from internal and external customers to be able to review or write System Specifications which will guide your design of mechanisms, your choice of critical materials to work within the zone of high energy electrons and x-rays, and your packaging of commercial subsystems. In all these, you will be collaborating with oother engineering staff, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and end-users to achieve practical cost-effective solutions with environmentally green technology which reduces the carbon footprint of many processes it replaces.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience with air flow modeling, x-ray shielding, and product-handling expertise.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred)
10+ years of relevant experience
Experience with solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
Familiarity with standard metal fabrication processes and tolerances
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Pragmatic, results-oriented, collaborative attitude.
