The Senior Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for working with BrandMuscle?s Local Marketing Specialists, Media Planner/Buyers and Team Managers to plan and purchase media space or time for clients in a variety of local media. Must have extensive understanding of various local media options and how each supports client marketing objectives.
Day-to-day management of client related media plans and programs including but not limited to: media plan preparation, media program definition and execution, and post-buy reporting and accounting
Applying an in-depth understanding of the client?s business, business rules, and business processes to help effectively implement strategic media programs. The Associate Manager is also directly engaged in the client?s process as they relate to the BrandMuscle media program
Research, negotiate and execute advertising placement in a variety of local media, including: Newspaper, Magazine, Radio, Email, Social Media, TV and Yellow Pages
Analyze media placement and results to identify the most cost effective mix by market.
Manages material deliver in a timely, efficient manner. Ensures all necessary forms are completed and delivered in an accurate and timely fashion.
Supervises and approves client/market plans & buys.
Gathers statistics and prepares media plans with directives to guide the buying process.
Teams with Media Leads to complete Post Buy Analyses for larger buys.
Gives direction to and trains junior staff on day-to-day functions.
Serves as roll model within the team.? Leads team in setting strategies for developing media plans.
Keeps up on media trends.
Mentoring and developing junior media planner/buyers on industry and media planning concepts, practices and procedures
A Bachelor?s degree is required.
Detail- and client service-oriented.
Self-starter, ability to work without direct supervision.
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
Well versed in use of Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of media research tools and systems.
Excellent organizational skills.
A minimum of 5 years media buying experience in an advertising agency, media agency or corporate media buying department.
