Senior Mortgage Bankruptcy Escalation Specialist EverBank Financial

This position will analyze the mortgage servicing portfolio to identify bankruptcy delays that exceed investor, state and company guidelines. This individual will also work closely with internal and external counterparts to ensure that functional groups within the bankruptcy process are assisting in supporting the processes that need to be completed. Responsibilities will also include handling specialized reporting to maintain tier rating with Freddie Mac, FHA, etc. In addition, this individual will also refute losses, penalty or repurchase rebuttals with investors, MI companies, attorneys and other vendors to avoid losses.
? Responsible for writing detailed chronologies on bankruptcy loans prior to and post release.
? Complete all timeline management reporting on loans in bankruptcy to determine the delay in bankruptcy proceedings and maintain exception reporting.
? Create concise spreadsheets explaining payment histories on loans that require repurchase requests to Investors and/or previous servicers.
? Responsible for handling exceptions reports and the escalation of any delay to ensure continued movement of the loan.
? Correspond with investors, attorneys, vendors, etc on losses, penalties or repurchase related issues.
? Conduct loss analysis and make recommendations to management based on findings.
? Research and/or prepare documentation, or analyze requests in accordance with established guidelines and determine the appropriate course of action.
? Communicate effectively both written and verbal, tailor communications to audience, actively listen and follow-up with questions and updates to involved parties.
? Research and respond to external and internal audit findings.
? Assist management in regulatory implementation, notices, and requirements.
? Handle escalated issues and/or special request from other servicing groups or investors.
? Have a thorough understanding of the business unit's operational processes and the implications on other groups that function within the operations.
? Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the department processes and procedures with the ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
? Handle more complex levels of transactions with limited supervision to complete daily tasks and duties.
? Knowledgeable in bankruptcy state, district and division laws and adapt to updates and new state laws.
? Have an understanding of system investor code reporting and GSE performance rating methodology.
? Respond to emails and intercoms from attorneys and their staff to provide swift and accurate information to support their research.
? Work closely with the staff to notify management of errors and omissions in updates submitted that impair the efficient and effective review and processing of reports/updates.
? Adhere to company and department policies and procedures.
? Follow established company guidelines to gain revenue and reduce losses.
? Facilitate conference calls with attorneys and investors to discuss loan statuses.
? Review tasks and follow ups daily to ensure they are completed within company timeframes.
? Additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Requirements)
? Knowledge of MSP Workstation
? Knowledge of LPS Desktop
? Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products especially Excel
? Must be analytically inclined, be able to think critically and take appropriate action where needed
? Proficient research and organizational skills
? Attention to detail
? Able to multi-task and establish priorities
? Good time management skills
? Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
? Ability to work quickly and accurately
? Able to meet tight deadlines
? Ability to interact with various levels of management and outside legal counsel
Training and Experience
? Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent work experience
? 2 plus years Bankruptcy experience preferred
? 1 ? 3 years of Default Servicing experience
? 1-3 years of project management experience
