Senior MySQL Database Administrator Genius

The Senior MySQL DBA has deep experience in MySQL replication, sharding, InnoDB high performance tuning and high availability in very high-volume 24x7 website environments.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of all MySQL infrastructure including day-to-day server operations, capacity planning, tuning, replication topologies and disaster recovery
Work closely with developers to ensure optimal SQL for new deployments and production tuning
Develop and implement strategies to increase database reliability, security, and performance.
Own the architecture of new and existing databases in support of product development.
Qualifications
More than five years of industry experience administering multiple MySQL database servers.
Extensive experience supporting and managing MySQL replication.
Strong working knowledge of MySQL best practices and tools (Percona, maatkit)
Experience being on-call in a 24x7x365 production environment.
An ability to communicate clearly and in a friendly manner with people throughout the organization.
A strong self-starting work ethic and good time management skills.
Desired Skills
Strong shell scripting skills in bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python.
A solid understanding of the underlying Linux operating system fundamentals for MySQL.
Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge, sufficient to troubleshoot MySQL connectivity issues.
