SENIOR MySQL DBA NextBio

Position Overview/Responsibilities:
We are looking for a hands-on person who will work very closely with the engineering team and be responsible for maintaining our database tier. The person will support day-to-day operational production database activity. We deal with very large amounts of data and the person should be proficient in query optimization, schema design, and ideal MySQL deployment architectures. The candidate must have strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with all areas of MySQL database administration on a medium to large scale MySQL installation implementations is a must.
Required Experience:

Expert knowledge in maintain, build, support, tune and monitor production MySQL database servers.
Need to be proficient with Master-Slave, Master-Master MySQL replication.
Experience in design, implement, and tune database backup workflow.
Experience with PERL scripting, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Familiarity with database architecture design, including data partitioning and application partitioning.
Experience in management and upgrade of schema versions in a SaaS environment.
Bachelor's/Masters degree or equivalent preferred.
5 + years experience as a DBA.
2+ years of MySQL DBA experience.
Experience with performance tuning.
Proficient in MySQL deployment architecture.
Experience working as a part of the engineering team as well as production experience.
Prior experience in a SaaS and search application is a big plus.
