Position Summary:
LANDesk?s rapidly growing suite of software is comprised of Systems, Security, Asset and Service Management solutions. The Sr. Software Engineer develops applications for one or more of these solution sets. The Sr. Software Engineer will team with other experienced engineering, product management, quality assurance and technical support staff members to deliver high quality products that meet customer requirements. This delivery will take place using a proven Agile development process.
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
Understand customer needs and business issues to contribute to functional requirements
Use functional requirements as the basis for research, analysis, project planning
Lead and participate in software design and architectural discussions
Assists in establishing systems philosophy and design objectives
Collaborates in preliminary and advanced design studies and prepare portions of engineering proposals
Conceives and develops solutions to analytical, design, and test problems program(s) experience
Produce effective object oriented designs and implementations
Assures continuity of design features from advanced design through contract status
Writes major portions of complex specifications and engineering reports as a result of advance studies, special engineering, investigations, and similar activities
Serves as a professional authority in one engineering discipline or specialty area
Develop and maintain software and unit tests
Analyzes and resolves failures in test and service, sometimes without recourse to intense theoretical studies and test programs
Develops aspects of new theory and design criteria for general applications
Participate in the continuous improvement of the development process
Serves as company consultant and spokesperson on specialized projects or programs
Interacts with all levels of the company and outside contacts
Develop and share knowledge about the software
May perform other job duties as directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience:
7 plus years of related experience as a Software Engineer with application and web development
Strong experience with .Net development
Extensive Knowledge in C++, C# or related Object-Oriented languages, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, SQL
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Great time management, decision making, prioritization and organization skills
Strong technical troubleshooting skills and problem solving
Demonstrates the ability to think through situations outside the norm and develop appropriate solutions, isolating the root cause
Extensive Knowledge of all Microsoft Windows operating systems and server platforms
Preferred:
Experience with web services
Experience with mobile development
Win8 and WinRT APIs
Experience configuring and supporting Windows based computers and networks
Microsoft Certified Professional Developer or Microsoft Certified Solution Developer
Education/Certification/Licensing:
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or demonstrated skills
