DescriptionSummary
The primary role that this position fills is that of our network architect and implementation expert. The position provides support to the company's IT objectives and will develop, coordinate, and document plans, procedures, and architecture enhancements. The position will provide key support and further develop our core architecture. The purview of this position includes all network related to our internal and customer facing systems.
Minimum Requirements
Education
oBachelor?s degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience, or Characteristics
o7-9 years? experience in IT environment supporting WANs, LANs, or SANS and as a senior network engineer.
oExperience as a Network Engineer II or exhibit ability to assume duties of Network Engineer III. Meets all requirements for advancement from Network Engineer III.
oAbility to follow and create technical documents and procedures.
oHigh attention to detail and good project management skills.
oAbility to investigate and solve complex problems and to quickly diagnose and isolate hardware/software issues.
oExcellent oral and written communications skills.
Helpful / Preferred
oCCNP or Linux Certified preferred.
Functions and Responsibilities (?in addition to other duties as assigned)
1.Specific abilities in any one of the following areas:
a.Manage all Cisco routers and switches
b.Perform network protocols analysis
c.Support Telecommunications (Local/Long Distance voice, T-1, data) Infrastructure
d.Install and manage IP Telephony
e.Install and manage all Storage Systems and Storage Area Networks
f.Install and manage HP/UX and Linux
g.Implement Computer Security (IDS, Firewall, etc) policies and procedures for company
2.Diagnose and correct hardware/software problems without supervision
3.Recommend strategy on IT infrastructure changes
4.Develop/deploy IT infrastructure changes
5.Document changes to infrastructure according to established procedures
6.Review/implement system security
7.Diagnose system hardware/software problems
8.Work with SEs, PEs, and other technical groups to solve complex problems
9.Maintain detailed documentation for IT infrastructure
10.Independently manage large, complex projects
11.Unix system general installation and maintenance
12.System Administrator duties including access control, disk space utilization, and documentation for physical/network layers
13.Administration of remote control software for customer sites
14.Review application log files for problems or anomalies and correct or report them as necessary
15.Assist in maintenance of physical facility infrastructure
