Responsibilities:
Network architectural design and documentation
Planning, oversight, and participation in implementing new technologies to support business requirements and enhance productivity
Network performance analysis and tuning for optimization
Predicting and planning network refresh cycles to maintain performance and reliability
Participate in IT strategic planning and budget preparation
Tracking industry trends, best practices and new technologies and incorporating these into the FireEye network as appropriate
Establishing best practice policies for the FireEye network on a global basis.
Establishing standard design templates for each type of environment (campus, remote office, Engineering, Sales, etc.)
Creating documentation of design specifications and processes related to the FireEye network
General oversight of the state and health of the FireEye global network, keeping it in conformance with established standards and practices.
Liaising with FireEye Management to keep them informed of the state of the network and provide what is desired from Management to support the business and enhance productivity
Establish appropriate network monitoring to aid in achieving all the above
Final level of Technical Support for network troubleshooting
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels using metrics and data
8+ years experience as a Network Engineer including 3+ years as a Senior Network Engineer or Architect
Demonstrated ability to be a team lead
Knowledge of and experience with networking protocols listed above
Solid trouble shooting skills including packet analysis
Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of network solutions with the ability to evaluate and choose the best solution for the existing and future requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of Layer 2 technologies including Rapid Spanning Tree, Port Channels, virtual Port Channels, VLAN design and trunking.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols
While not expected to be an expert in Network Security, must have a good sense of this aspect and ability to work with FireEye Information Security personnel
Experience with recent 10Gig/40Gig technology, preferably Cisco Nexus
Knowledge of Firewall functionality including network segmentation
Knowledge of Load Balancing technology and experience with at least one product line
WAN Optimization knowledge and experience with at least one product line
Experience with Data Center design, implementation and maintenance
Experience with network refreshes
QoS design and implementation, including VoIP and Video
Experience with MPLS WAN networks
