About this jobReflexion Networks is looking for an exceptional network engineer to take on crucial responsibilities in managing the company?s hosting infrastructure. The person who fills this role will be a key contributor to both the company?s growing engineering team and its market success.
Working as a lead engineer on our infrastructure team, the primary goal for this position is to ensure the continuous, secure and high-performance operation of the company?s global infrastructure. Success requires a hands-on, take charge leader who is strong both conceptually and practically, has exceptional troubleshooting skills, and is meticulous in nature with great attention to detail.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Managing and maintaining the company?s production infrastructure to achieve uninterrupted operations.
Troubleshooting and swiftly resolving complex technical issues.
Ensuring the security of customer email.
Spearheading architectural plans and changes; identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending network related tools and emerging network technologies to help the company achieve its goals.
Building, deploying and maintaining new Linux servers and related infrastructure (such as routers, firewalls, load balancers, switches).
Managing and maintaining the company?s internal infrastructure.
Working closely with the software development team to ensure flawless deployment of new product releases.
Participating in the pager rotation for off-hours support.
Other duties as required and/or assigned.
REQUIRES A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN THE FOLLOWING:
VMware
EqualLogic SAN
Email protocols, email systems (such as qmail and Postfix), DNS, and email security software (including SpamAssassin, Clam AV and DNSBLs).
Linux and Java.
Network management tools and best practices.
Server configuration (hardware and software).
Scripting.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL SKILLS / APTITUDE
Several years of hands-on experience in an enterprise-level network-engineering support and design role; familiarity with designing and maintaining a global network environment.
Superior trouble-shooting skills.
Ability to take initiative, to lead, and to think outside the box.
Ability to pick-up new products quickly.
Strong planning and preparation skills.
Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, LANs/WANs, IP address/sub-netting, DNS, LDAP, VPNs, SSL, and common internet services, protocols, initiatives and applications.
Experience with high performance Intel servers, SAN/NAS, routers/switches, load balancers, firewalls, and other security appliances.
Strong understanding of iSCSI and RAID.
Experience administering Windows servers and managing Microsoft SQL Server.
Excellent understanding of Linux, Java and related technologies.
Experience writing Ruby, Perl and Bash scripts.
Self-motivated with minimum supervision required.
Ability to work non-traditional business hours when necessary to ensure the continuous operation of our global network.
