Senior Network Security Engineer - (00412) SafeNet Inc.
The Senior Network Security Engineer will be responsible for defining, delivering and supporting the enterprise network security architecture developed in collaboration with the IT Network Engineering team. The individual in this position will also play a strategic and operational role in maintaining and enhancing SafeNet?s technical incident response capabilities and keeping abreast of SafeNet?s threat landscape. The Senior Network Security Engineer will also participate in a diverse variety of IS projects and support the ongoing operations of the Information Security department.
?Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Master?s degree preferred
?Certification in networks/Information Security (CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) preferred
?10 years of progressive IT experience/networking technologies with 7 of those years specializing in Network Security
?Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
?Review narratives and perform tests of effectiveness for SOX compliance
?Solid technical writing experience
?Experience performing detailed Risk Assessments
?Threat analysis/Incident response: interpreting events and analyzing network traffic
?Proven expertise in mitigating and addressing threat vectors including APT, DDoS, Phishing, Malicious Payload, Cloud, Mobile Devices, etc.
?Experience with packet and network routing, analysis and troubleshooting
?Experience with designing and implementing secure networks
?Experience with secure data communications and applications
?Experience knowledge of PKI, cryptography and cryptanalysis
?Vulnerability/penetration testing and remediation
?Working knowledge of the OSI model, dynamic routing protocols (esp. OSPF and BGP), and subnetting, including CIDR notation
?Extensive knowledge for current and upcoming IT security technologies
?Awareness of latest and common security threats
?Excellent troubleshooting skills
?Knowledge of virtualization technologies
?Excellent written communication skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited, to, the following:
?Manage and enhance network vulnerability management program
?Ensures the proper operation of technology applications and equipment.
?Define security requirements for the implementation of new applications and projects
?Serve as a security engineer/consultant on projects
?Assume lead role in conducting security research on threats and remediation techniques/technology. Makes recommendations to the IS/IT teams and oversee their implementation
?Lead security event analysis and intrusion detection (IDS/IPS Incident response ? triage, incident analysis/forensics and remediation)
?Support operational information security responsibilities including the development maintenance of standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to satisfy the Information Security departments network operations
?Proactively monitor and investigate network security alerts from security tools.
?Assist in conducting risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and determine the impact of proposed changes to business processes, applications and systems.
?Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external/internal auditors, and customers as required to respond to audits and examinations
?Other duties as assigned.
