The Senior Network Security Engineer reports to the Senior Manager, I.T. Network Services. The successful candidate will be experienced in providing security technologies to a medium sized high-tech organization. Position will part of the larger I.T. Infrastructure team to assist enhancing the overall security architecture. This position interacts directly with all I.T. functional areas (e.g. Helpdesk/Desktop Support, Systems Administration, Risk & Compliance, and Business Information Systems) as well as with Engineering and QA functions. The successful candidate must possess a strong technical foundation, excel at multi-tasking and have the ability to ramp up quickly in a dynamic, high-tech environment.
Oversee the support, administration and maintenance of all security services & appliances.
Serve as an escalation point and ensure timely resolution of network and security issues.
Ensure all problems/failures are entered into Track IT trouble ticketing system and initiate Change Requests when changes must be made to Production systems.
Manage and oversee preventative maintenance of security hardware/software environments.
Participate in the evaluation of security hardware/software solutions and provide technical direction and guidance.
Manage the configuration, deployment, maintenance and security processes for all security platforms.
Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving network security efficiency, effectiveness and reliability.
Implement processes and procedures to ensure effective security monitoring is implemented to aid in the proactive identification and resolution of potential problems.
Architect, monitor and maintain security controls and systems within the I.T. infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and address security vulnerabilities with hardware, systems and applications.
Periodic on-call duties required (after hours / weekends).
Minimum of 5 years network security experience in high-tech industry designing, implementing and managing IT network and security solutions.
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, make decisions and solve problems while under pressure.
Experience developing and implementing processes, metrics, policies, run books and other documentation.
Ability to think strategically, act tactically and deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines.
Possess a broad knowledge of current developments in network/security industries and able to apply these to business issues.
Experience required with various flavors of Linux/Unix administration.
Must be experienced with Blue Coat ProxySG, Blue Coat ProxyAV and Qualys appliances & services.
Must be experienced with Cisco ASA firewalls in Production environments.
Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
Highly desirable the candidate possess hands-on experience with a variety of Cisco LAN/WAN platforms, Cisco SSL/VPN, Cisco wireless, Cisco VoIP and DNS/DHCP.
Must possess and demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to oversee and partner with key network and security vendors.
Security Certification CISSP or other
CCNA-Security / CCNP-Security
Travel for this position is estimated to be 15 percent.
