Skytap is looking for talented Engineers to join our operations team. Skytap operations is a fun, collaborative environment integrating disciplines of systems engineering, network engineering, and operations practices. Cloud computing is one of today's hottest technologies, and Skytap is leading the way by providing self-service virtual data centers in just a few clicks. Skytap's operations team helps ensure the continued excellence of our production cloud service as well as our corporate IT infrastructure.
We are looking for individuals with experience designing and managing full application stacks; ranging from custom software to physical datacenter equipment.
This is an opportunity to apply and expand your skills across a wide range of emerging technology. We strive for DevOps style integration between our operations, development, and QA teams. Our service is built primarily on open source software including Linux, Mysql, HAProxy, and others. Experience with these technologies along with hypervisors and scale-out architectures is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with a talented team of engineers and architects
Particiapte in the full application lifecyle with product management and development teams
Perform monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting on Skytap production platforms
Manage and expanding physical datacenter infrastructure
Release management and deployment of Skytap production platforms
Identify and triage bugs in Skytap's service
Required Back and Skills:
BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
4+ years experience in maintaining 99.99%+ uptime production environments
Self-directed and a great team member
Strong background -nix operational experience
Strong background in developing tools and scripts to support production environments
Background in server virtualization, including hardware and networking
Able to participate in off-hours on-call rotation
