Metratech is seeking either a Senior or Principal Web Front End Engineer to join a growing UX team to help lead efforts in engineering our two web applications. The Metratech UX team is responsible for designing the end-to-end customer experience of a cloud-based web applications that helps businesses move to the cloud and effectively manage the products and services they sell online. This position will play an important role in implementing and selecting the right technologies on the front end to support user experience, business, and engineering goals. The UX team is tasked with designing an application that empowers users to understand more about their business and delights them every time the log into the application all the way from the code and framework to the design of user interface. As a leader in front end engineering on the UX team, you will need to be smart, creative, flexible, and be able to wear many hats. You will be part of a fast paced agile development process that is responsible for working with all types of stakeholders (UX, Marketing, Development, Sales, Executives) to drive the design, requirements, technologies, and implementation of new and existing features for both of our web applications: Metanga and MetraNet. You will be helping shape the future for how our company develops our next generation enterprise cloud applications. Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to create stunning interfaces using Javascript libraries, JS MVC frameworks, HTML, & CSS
Work with Product Owners to define and understand requirements of new and existing features within the application
Collaborate with UX Designers to produce low and hi fidelity prototypes of workflows and application pages
Participate in the creative process to help define ideas for new products and features. We want to hear from people with all types of skill sets!
Rapidly iterate designs to optimize usability in an agile development process.
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of designers, engineers, QA, marketing, and product management to deliver a user experience that delights customers
Ability to strategically push the company to use the latest technologies in our web applications
Prior experience working tightly with design teams is a huge plus
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of jQuery, AJAX, CSS, HTML
Master of javascript frameworks like jQuery, Prototype, YUI, Moo Tools, ExtJS
Tremendous experience with Javascript MVC frameworks like Backbone, Ember, Angular, Knockout, Batman or another MVC framework.
Experience writing web applications in Java, Spring, .Net WebForms, .Net MVC, C#, Ruby, Python, Node.js
Ability to prototype and develop in HTML/CSS/Javascript is required.
Experience working on SaaS or the cloud, a huge plus.
5-7+ years of experience as an engineer or developer on the front end of either web applications or complex web sites
MS preferred, BS/BA required in a technical field like Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Informations Systems or a related field.
Prior experience working with Git, SVN, or Mercurial. Github or Bitbucket experience with a public repository a huge plus!
Online portfolio or work samples demonstrating your role in the user-centered design process.
Understanding of user experience best practices, UI patterns, visual design, interaction design, and accessibility
Advanced knowledge of front-end and web browser limitations and differences
Experience working in a collaborative team environment and working directly with designers, developers, product owners, sales and marketing
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills. Be able to persuade stake holders to adopt a technology across the company.
Familiarity with enterprise software and the agile development process is a plus.
