About the Job
We are currently seeking a proactive, driven individual to serve in an outreach capacity in our Chandler, AZ office. This position is responsible for acquiring participation in utility sponsored energy efficiency programs from architects, engineering firms, service providers, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, vendors, and other community stakeholders throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan and surrounding areas. Interested candidates should have strong connections in the local market, knowledge/ability to identify opportunities, project management experience, and building automation systems background/experience with a strong emphasis on service sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for annual energy savings goals of approximately 20,000,000 kWh.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate projects from initial customer interest through to completion
Identify potential energy savings strategies that are tied to New Construction, Retrocommissioning, Energy Management Systems and Controls in commercial and industrial environments
Deliver effective sales presentations and respond to questions and inquiries from industry professionals in an accurate and timely manner
Network and partner with trade allies, service providers, utility representatives, account managers, key industry contacts and end users to identify potential rebate eligible energy saving opportunities
Maintain a formal network of industry players and be a key resource for service providers and trade allies who leverage the rebate programs to promote and sell energy efficiency to commercial and industrial customers
Utilize an understanding of business operation costs associated with operating and maintaining facilities in order to develop and propose energy efficiency projects
Conduct training seminars to educate stakeholders on rebate program logistics, technologies, best practices and new developments in the marketplace
Review proposed upgrades/designs for appropriateness and eligibility for utility incentives
Conduct site visits to verify installation and operation of baseline and replacement equipment/systems
Identify and focus on market segments capable so as to maximize energy savings with the most efficient and cost effective approach
Develop and maintain individual and team strategies for reaching sales, program targets and other business related objectives
Establish and maintain a professional client rapport, including identifying and anticipating client needs and proposing solutions
Maintain an active project pipeline to assure goals and objectives are consistently met
Promptly and accurately address client concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships
Understand the organization and decision-making process in order to work with stakeholders in determining project eligibility, schedule and potential energy savings
Communicate and coordinate project activities with utility representatives, end-users and other stakeholders, as needed
Consistently meet or exceed program expectations related to sales, marketing, communication, client satisfaction and other key performance indicators
Motivate team members through leadership to meet and exceed department goals and objectives, instilling a culture of professionalism, customer care, and excellent product knowledge
BS/BA degree preferred, or commensurate demonstrated direct experience
5 to 7 years? proven experience with building automation systems service sales, project management, or account management in the Phoenix, Arizona and the surrounding area
Technical and marketplace expertise in commercial new construction, building automation, energy management, mechanical and electrical systems, architectural design a plus
Demonstrated experience in conducting public speaking events/training
Ability to communicate, council, and sell concepts at all levels of an organization
Ability and comfort using small tools, ladders, and power equipment
Demonstrated success in a sales or marketing environment
Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to deliver on deadlines and manage a high volume workload
Superior customer relations and interpersonal skills are required.
Excellent written and oral communications are essential.
Planning, organization and self-management in a professional environment are desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and the ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required
Local architectural, engineering, construction, mechanical, electrical, or HVAC industry contacts are desired
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
