As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all Lithium web applications meet their performance requirements. This hands-on role is required to have excellent performance analysis skills, with the ability to look at performance metrics, understand and highlight bottlenecks, recommend changes to improve performance and build and deploy automation to multiply your efforts.
Design, develop and execute performance test scenarios for Lithium applications
Profile slow performing areas of the application and identify bottlenecks
Build, manage and maintain performance testing environments, test automation and reporting
Work closely with Engineering to drive performance issues resolutions and adoption of best practices
Participate in architecture design, product discussions and planning with Engineering
Work closely with customer-facing teams to set expectations, present performance test reports and deliver latest status
Assist with infrastructure capacity modeling and management
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
4+ years of web application performance testing and analysis
Hands on software development and performance tuning experience in Java
Database performance monitoring and tuning experience (e.g. MySQL, Oracle)
Strong experience with Linux system performance monitoring and tuning
Scripting experience in Python, Perl or Ruby
Hands on experience using load testing tools (e.g. Loadrunner, Silkperformer, Jmeter, Grinder)
Hands on experience using performance profiling tools (e.g. Yourkit, Wily Introscope, Appdynamics)
Hands on experience using system monitoring frameworks (e.g. Nagios, Graphite, Cacti)
Strong quantitative thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Desired Qualifications
Experience with continuous delivery and performance testing automation
Experience with Lucene, Elastic Search, Hadoop and Cassandra
You are passionate and interested in new technologies to increase performance
You contribute to an open source project or write a blog related to performance
