Senior Platform Engineer Gilt Groupe

Responsibilities:

As a hands-on Senior Software Engineer for Gilt Groupe on our platform team, youll help develop and maintain the scalable data and services platform upon with the Gilt Group sites are built.

Experience in high-performance, transactional environments is a significant plus.
We like open source we use it and we participate in projects and we like transparent and open development processes. Were not afraid to use non-mainstream technologies if they get the job done.

We use a blend of technologies, languages and architectures and arent afraid to explore new ideas and take risks.


Qualifications:

Experience in a full software development life cycle from initial design to deployment
At least 5 years experience in developing, delivering and supporting production-quality software, with a preference towards infrastructure and systems
At least 5 years experience with development in Java
An interest in using open source technology, as well as an interest in participating in open source projects
Experience with building or working with distributed, network-connected systems
Experience with relational databases (with non-relational a plus)
Good spoken and written communication skills
Strong supportive team orientation.
