BTI has immediate openings for highly experienced and highly skilled software developers in our Littleton, Massachusetts location. As a member of our Packet Solutions Development Team, you will participate in the design and development of embedded systems software that is the foundation of BTI?s expanding optical/packet portfolio.Responsibilities will include:
Participating in activities spanning the entire software product lifecycle including requirements analysis, feature specification, design, implementation, unit test, verification support, system integration and maintenance;
Interpreting product requirements, develop software design specifications and participate in project planning;
Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining embedded software features in carrier-grade communications equipment, using tools and methods according to industry standards and best practices;
Working cross-functionally with other teams to understand and respond to their requirements;
The successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or Computer Science;
Minimum 10+ years? experience (depending on level) of embedded C/C++ programming for carrier-grade communications systems;
Multithreaded and object-oriented design and programming;
Direct design experience in several of the following:
Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet protocols (PB, PBB, PBT, MPLS-TP)
Bridging and Routing Protocols (spanning tree, G.8032, G.8031, SPB)
Clocking and Synchronization (IEEE 1588, Synchronous Ethernet, G.826x)
TCP/IP, OSI networking protocols
QNX, embedded Linux
Excellent design, problem-solving, analytical and trouble-shooting skills;
Excellent verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals and teams in software, hardware, mechanical and optical design disciplines, as well as verification test and product management;
Strong written communications skills;
Proven ability to define and meet own schedule while multitasking and managing priorities;
