We are currently seeking a Senior Product Manager, File Systems and Storage Management
This role is an inbound/outbound, technical product manager and architect role. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the File Systems and Storage Management product manager will be the ultimate authority on guiding development of DDN Parallel File System and Storage Management solutions . This person will be a subject matter expert on high performance and scale-out storage products, file system and applicable solutions. This person will own the current parallel file system (GridScaler and ExaScaler) products as well as be responsible for driving and defining new file system solutions. Additionally, This person will have responsibility for defining and driving development of a Single Pane of Glass management interface for DDN storage products.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to;
Engage with sales, customers, analysts and Engineering on strategic opportunities including complex technical architectures in order to better understand real-world environments in which DDN products are used. Determine both long term strategy (product direction) as well as short term tactical (near-term product features) and plan the product roadmap appropriately.
Be an authority and subject matter expert on scale-out storage solutions including current and future parallel file systems.
Define and drive the development of management solutions for storage that encompass the file system solutions and the underlying storage. arrays. Drive features that promote management of DDN solutions with industry standards such as SNMP, SMI-S and new emerging standards
Create MRDs, PRDs and other applicable product justification, business value and/or definition documentation in the product development process.
Work directly with Engineering utilizing Agile development methodology to drive high quality, streamlined iterative processes.
Foster third-party strategic technology partnerships where applicable that integrate into DDN product.
Develop technical focused collateral including Data Sheets, Whitepapers, Demos, Presentation Materials, and technical how-to guides.
Provide escalation assistance with product management aliases, RFP responses, etc.
Conduct Transfer of Information / training for field sales / engineering.
Qualifications for this role are;
10+ years of industry experience with prior PM / TME / TPM experience managing storage related products, preferably file systems and/or Management solutions.
Advanced knowledge of parallel/clustered file systems including at least two or more of the following: GPFS, Lustre, pNFS, StorNext, Veritas vxfs, Netapp ONTAP 8, CEPH, ONEFS or others.
Strong experience in HPC environments utilizing Lustre, GPFS or other proprietary scale out file systems, NFS/CIFS, VMware ESX, vSphere, iSCSI, and general NAS/SAN architecture.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed competitive analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills including background career sales experience, and ability to convey complex solutions in easy-to-understand terms.
Strong written and authoring skills. Prior published articles/white papers a plus.
Industry certifications a plus.
Bachelor?s degree in computer science or equivalent experience required.
Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
