Senior Product Manager - Liquid Handling Labcyte

The Senior Product Manager will report to the Senior Director, Marketing and will be responsible for the Labcyte?s flagship Echo liquid handler product line. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for all internal and external facing aspects of product management - including defining and executing on new product development and product enhancements, product positioning, revenue planning, forecasting and pricing. You will help build a diverse product portfolio and drive new product development based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You will be the key evangelist for the Echo liquid handler and will be instrumental in driving the adoption of acoustic liquid handling throughout life science research and applied markets. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their needs, and nurture innovative solutions to expand the usage of acoustic liquid handling.
The ideal candidate must have experience as a product manager and familiarity with life science research / applied markets business structure. You must be able to communicate with all areas of our multidisciplinary company, including Applications, Sales, Research and Development, and Manufacturing. You will work with the entire Product Marketing and Marketing Communications team to define the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offerings, providing the necessary tools to ensure the success of all sales channels.
Lead new product development process from concept through commercialization, including voice of customer, definition of product requirements and value proposition, management of product launches and sales training.
Identify opportunities for increasing customer adoption of acoustic liquid handling technology.
Conduct market research and lead on-going visits to customers and other stake holders.
Specify market requirements for current and future products and drive a solution set across development teams.
Work with Marketing Communications to develop sales tools and collateral.
Drive product launch activities, bringing awareness to new products and expanded capabilities.
Set pricing strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals.
Maintain strong initiative and willingness to take ownership of the product line and drive projects to completion.
Analyze potential partner relationships for the product line, to help drive the adoption of Labcyte technology.
A minimum of 7 years of life science product management experience.
Knowledge of liquid handling, automation and robotic laboratory equipment.
Knowledgeable in life science applications including, but not limited to: high throughput screening, genomics applications, biochemical and cell-based assays, and protein crystallography.
Familiarity with the diagnostic market is preferable.
An advanced Life Science degree (PhD or MS) and/or MBA desirable.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Enthusiasm, attention to detail and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
Must be a consensus builder with the ability to work effectively with others in a fast paced environment.
This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America, Asia and Europe (25%).
