Senior Product Manager Data Robotics

Overview

The Senior Product Manager at Drobo is the expert for all of the company?s products and will be the primary product driver and resource for the rest of the organization This person will have comprehensive knowledge of market requirements, data storage technology, industry and technology trends, and the competitive environment. The person in this position will be responsible for understanding and communicating the value proposition of the products and will be expected to participate in executive briefings. You will be a working manager, participating in meeting planning and execution, research/pricing analysis, development of product requirement documents (PRDs)?completely immersed in the product development cycle. A key component of this role is the ability to work jointly with Engineering and Product Marketing, as well as to manage across different functions and departments.
Responsibilities

Interpreting the creative vision of the company?s product development process and translating this vision into highly successful products
End-to-end ownership of the company?s products from creative vision to end of life
Product positioning
PRD creation and management
Process development related to Product Management and cross-functional activities
Roadmap planning and communication
Product pricing and margin analysis
Competitive analysis
Internal product training (Support, Sales, others as required)
Program reviews to update Executive Staff on the status of all programs, including assessment of risk factors impacting the expected product launch
Departmental budgeting
Weekly departmental updates

Requirements

Strong technical background
Proven track record implementing product management processes
Experience with product internationalization and localization (software and hardware)
Proven ability to lead a team
Highly adept at working in a matrixed organization
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional working teams
Strong process focus
Excellent writing skills
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and requirements
Ability to communicate precisely to all levels of the organization
Strong commitment to teamwork
