Reports to: Director of Product ManagementReply! Inc., the leading online marketplace for locally-targeted advertising, seeks to hire a Product Manager who is looking to work in a fast paced environment to help define and build the next-generation features that will support local small businesses nationwide.
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for developing and communicating a vision for future product development while managing the lifecycle of our current product offerings. This position will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of online products that add value to our customers and the Reply.com organization. In this role, you will be heavily involved in customer research activities including market research, usability testing, live on-site experiments, product analysis and ROI. You will also play the role of product owner in an agile development process working on a daily basis with user experience designers, and software engineers to make strategic and tactical decisions about product functionality, balancing appropriate tradeoffs between business goals, user goals, scalability/maintainability, time-to-market, process efficiency and overall ROI. The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management and will work very closely with other teams within the company including engineering, marketing, business development and sales.
Responsibilities will include:
? Define business requirements: You will work directly with our merchant customers, and will analyze product positioning and usage patterns to develop an understanding of how best to focus and prioritize MerchantCircle?s product plan.
? Write complete and detail-oriented product requirements documents; Ensure clear communications of those requirements to the business, usability and management team.
? Work closely with Senior Management to integrate new products into our existing product offerings.
? Development of roadmaps, project plans, and requirements that meet overall strategic goals with innovative, achievable solutions
? Participate in feature reviews and advises on whether features should be maintained, improved or removed from the site.
? Communicating ideas: You will create wireframes & specs to get feature ideas hammered out, agreed upon and built.
? Will analyze the competitive landscape and provide competitive overview, strength / weaknesses analysis of key competitors.
? Create buy-in for their product vision both within the management team and with key enterprise stakeholders
? Designing product areas: You will collaborate with designers to further refine and develop product ideas.
? Shipping each revision: You will partner with engineering to ensure MerchantCircle products are developed to spec, making trade-offs as needed for quality & the needs of our customer.
The ideal candidate has:
? At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a product development role of a Internet -based product (ideally consumer internet space)
? Practical knowledge of product management practices including roadmap development, concept validation, requirements definition, and feature prioritization
? Project Management experience
? BS/BA degree in marketing, business or computer science. MBA a plus
? A track record of driving results
? Flexibility and willingness to work on a variety of projects and multi-task.
? Exceptional verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
? Experience working with small business merchants highly desirable
? Experience working in a dynamic Agile development environment
? Excellent judgment in making tradeoffs and finding simple solutions to complex problems
? A can-do, roll-up-the sleeves attitude
