Help define product direction in a fast-growing venture-backed company
Work side by side with an extremely talented technical team to bring game-changing technology to an ever-increasing enterprise customer base
Communicate with IT leadership from Fortune 2000 companies to solve today's toughest problems in IT management
Duties and Responsibilities
Document inbound product enhancement requests from the field
Communicate with customers and prospects directly regarding product feedback
Conduct competitive market analysis and help craft distinctive product messaging
Collaborate with the business development team on build/partner/buy decisions
Conduct technical assessments of competitive and partner solutions
Conduct market research, assess new opportunities, and define and propose go-to-market plans in new verticals
Identify key use cases required to close product gaps
Prioritize development work based on revenue opportunities
Communicate new functionality requirements to product development
Work with product development on feature-request assessments
Define and communicate the product roadmap to the sales team, customers, and prospects
Coordinate with product development regarding key dates and checkpoints in product delivery
Help create and maintain product collateral, such as product documentation and product collateral
Work with the marketing team on new product positioning and launch plans
Shape pricing strategy decisions with the pricing committee
Required Qualifications and Experience
Passion for the industry and our product
Product management experience with an enterprise-facing product
A bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Strong understanding of network-communications concepts, such as the OSI communication model and common L7 wire protocols
Strong understanding of components comprising enterprise IT applications, such as 3-tier architecture, web services, and so forth
Comfort communicating about systems-level and user-interface product development efforts
Excellent writing skills, with the comfort and desire to create product collateral, as needed
Experience communicating with top stakeholders within Fortune 2000 companies
Ability to build rapport with customers and remote field professionals in person and over the phone
Ability to build consensus and drive key product decisions within a fast-paced executive team
Attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple tasks, and ability to communicate status to multiple stakeholders effectively
Desired Experience
Experience in enterprise IT consulting or enterprise IT sales engineering
Experience in IT management or performance management market
Experience with appliance-based solutions
