Who We Want:
Bazaarvoice is providing new offerings to companies that sell through distributors, agents, franchises, branded stores and the like to capture, analyze and share the voice of the local customer. Many companies that sell in these models struggle to gather and share customer input at scale and as such aren?t able to leverage social media to its full capacity. Bazzarvoice is seeking a product marketing manager (PMM) that has experience as part of or selling into companies that operate in the models listed above.
The Product Marketing Manager for Local Advocacy is responsible for developing ? and then telling ? a story to both internal and external audiences about products that will help drive awareness and demand for them. He/She will create the marketing strategy and plan, coordinate execution and ensure the sales team has the knowledge and tools to convert leads into opportunities and closed business. The role resides within the Product Marketing Team, which is a part of the Product Organization within Bazaarvoice.
The PMM for Local Advocacy?s role and responsibilities include:
Defining the market opportunity for Local Advocacy products and solutions
Writing the marketing requirements document (MRD)
Performing targeting/segmentation exercises
Mapping out the buying process for the product, including key roles that will participate in it
Developing buyer and user personas for the identified roles
Collaborating with the Product team on product requirements
Developing relevant content for identified personas in a variety of formats
Developing the competitive comparison guide and associated materials
Collaborating with the Sales Enablement organization to develop a comprehensive sales readiness plan
Assisting in the creation of enablement content for direct sales resources
Working with the Direct Marketing team on effective strategies to drive leads
Product naming and pricing
Managing the launch plan
Developing customer success stories
Conducting win/loss interviews and performing ongoing product success analysis
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Product Marketing experience in a company (or selling to companies) that sell/s through distributors, agencies, franchises or the like
3+ years of product marketing experience
Proven ability to collaborate with product and or technical teams (product management experience is strongly preferred)
Excellent strategic business acumen
Proven ability to manage high levels of complexity and function in a dynamic role with high demands
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to travel 20%
Project Management skills
Ability to interface seamlessly with cross functional teams: executives, product management, engineering, sales and client services
Previous sales experience is a plus
