Senior Product Quality Engineer QD Vision
QD Vision provides integrated optical components containing semiconductor nano-materials called quantum dots for display and illumination applications. Maintaining clear communications with production personnel, customer interfaces and development teams, the Senior Product Quality Engineer will establish and implement quality guidelines, ensure compliance to requirements and drive improvements for QD Vision products from manufacturing development throughout their lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Manage ongoing product specifications and document specifications for similar new products
Coordinate with development, manufacturing, and customers contacts to translate product specifications into internal component and/or assembly manufacturing specifications
Plan and execute ongoing product testing and quality assurance protocols to ensure products meets all customer specifications, tolerances and usage requirements
Develop and perform verification and validation plans and protocols associated with product/process quality according to ISO, internal and customer requirements
Lead key initiatives to improve product performance
Lead applicable FMEA efforts and drive necessary follow-up actions to prevent high risk issues
Incorporate Six Sigma principles in product analyses (DOE, acceptance criteria, sampling, root cause analysis, control charts, capability analysis, etc.)
Lead product and process-related corrective and preventive actions to successful conclusion, including formal CAPA requirements, root cause analyses and confirmation of effectiveness
Lead appropriate internal and external quality audits
Manage product design control and guide change management process for products, processes, operations and materials in compliance with quality system; point person for ongoing product design history records after initial design release
Mentor junior engineers and team members in the organization
Lead cross-functional teams to analyze and drive solutions to product quality problems
Act as liaison for any customer evaluations of quality system, product inspections, audits
Able to incorporate ISO, ASTM and other appropriate industry standards throughout the product life cycle
Lead process and quality data analysis and reporting, including product data reporting as required by customers
Apply process and quality data analysis to identify and lead actions for continuous improvement of product quality and overall quality management system
Requirements
MS or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics or Materials Science with 5-10 years of work experience, preferably 5+ years as quality engineer in a technical product environment
Working knowledge of color science and prior experience working with LED?s preferred
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute on plan; self starter, results and timeline focused, but still able to handle details to deliver accurate conclusions and results
High level of comfort in using statistical tools including design of experiments, green belt equivalent or higher preferred
Prior experience working within requirements of ISO 9000, 16949, or equivalents with documented experience leading internal audits and corrective actions; certified quality auditor preferred
Must understand manufacturing processes in enough depth to make sound recommendations for improvements
Detail orientation with tenacity to resolve more complex issues if they arise
Proven leadership skills while leading cross-functional personnel to complete projects and assignments
Established oral and written communication skills enabling successful interaction with international team members
Prior experience with ISO 14000 a plus
