Role Purpose
Work closely with business to perform system analysis and design using structured development techniques.
1. Impact on the Business
Develop an understanding of Quickcomm?s business model and processes in order to improve upon our current systems.
Enhance current software tools working independently with little supervision.
Assist in the monitoring of production databases, servers and Web Site.
Accomplish goals assigned by management.
2. Customers, Suppliers and Third Parties
Work closely with business to perform system analysis and design using structured development techniques.
3. Leadership and Teamwork
Assist Junior Programmers and Programmer/Analysts in meeting project schedules by giving direction and constructive feedback.
Aid junior programmers and Programmer/Analysts in overcoming programming difficulties.
4. Innovation and Change
Develop applications using tools such as T-SQL, Java, Hibernate and Adobe Flash/Flex.
Develop well-structured code following company standards.
Ability to communicate technical aspects of coding to business and project management.
5. Knowledge and Experience
Ability to excel in a team model environment and work multiple projects simultaneously.
Skilled in project management techniques and system development life cycle methodologies.
6. Communication
Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and possess excellent documentation skills.
Essential
3 + years? experience coding using Adobe Flash/Flex, Java, Hibernate or similar visual development tools.
Understanding of XML, including import/exporting to SQL data structures.
Understanding of Apache, JBOSS and Microsoft?s Internet Information Services (IIS).
Excellent project management skills.
Expertise in relational database design and data normalization.
3 + years? experience writing stored procedures for SQL server.
Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word VBA
Able to document process flow diagrams, functional vs. non-functional specifications, and database relational models
