About the Job
The following is a representative description of the position?s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Nexant will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business.
We are currently seeking a proactive, driven Trade Ally Manager (Senior Program Representative II) to lead an outreach team located in the Northeast. This position is responsible for leading and developing the outreach team to achieve participation in utility sponsored energy efficiency programs from architects, engineering firms, service providers, contractors, distributors, manufacturers, vendors, and other community stakeholders throughout the Northeast and surrounding areas. Interested candidates should have strong connections in the local market, knowledge/ability to identify opportunities, project management experience, and building automation systems background/experience with a strong emphasis on consultative sales. This position is a telecommuting position frequent day trips and some overnight stays are common.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical outreach to promote energy efficiency through the creation and management of formal and informal trade alliance networks
Provide territory management, account management, trade ally outreach, trade ally support
Maintain a proper project pipeline, management and reporting structure designed to meet or exceed goals
Provide customer support on projects as needed
Establish and maintain professional client rapport
Motivate and guide employees through leadership to meet and exceed department goals and objectives and instill a culture of professionalism, customer care and excellent product knowledge
Direct the activities of outreach leadership and/or vendors hired to run and manage programs with overall energy efficiency portfolio
Ensure contracts are in place, KPI?s are monitored and adjustments are made throughout the life of the programs across the contract(s)
Communicate effectively with subcontractors and clients
Identify ally recruitment and retention opportunities
Work in close coordination and concert with local, regional and national company outreach representatives and managers to meet company and project goals
Support trade allies in identifying qualifying projects
Calculate and review customer incentive payments
Support trade allies in application completion
Support trade allies with custom projects as needed
Deliver training presentations to provide trade allies with understanding of the value of incentive programs
Respond to trade ally and project inquiries professionally, accurately and completely
Other duties as directed
BS/BA or Master?s degree
5-7 years? experience in technical sales, energy efficiency or technical education and industry experience will be considered
Previous experience in working in a telecommuting type position is encouraged and strongly preferred
Experience in working with HVAC, Controls and Mechanical Contractors is required
Excellent oral communication, writing, interpersonal, sales, marketing and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required
Ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple time dependent tasks simultaneously
Excellent ability to develop and present rational value-added business cases for energy industry manufacturers, distributors, retailers and/or contractors based on real-time market dynamics
Proficient in production tracking, coaching and accountability
Proven technical sales, marketing and communication experience
Knowledge of energy efficiency or the building efficiency industry is a plus
Knowledge and familiarity with the State and local commercial building market is desired
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is a plus
Must be able to lift, push and or pull 50 pounds
Ability and comfort using small tools, ladders and power equipment
Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
Must have a valid U.S. driver?s license, insurance and personal vehicle to visit customer sites
Experienced in conducting public speaking events/training
C.E.M. or LEED AP certification (or on track to receive) is a plus
