About the Job
Nexant is currently seeking a professional, detail-oriented full-time Senior Project Administrator with great customer, technical, and communication skills to support the Demand Management staff in our Portland, OR office and support a local utility sponsored energy efficiency program.
Successful candidates must be reliable and punctual, have excellent oral and written skills, demonstrate initiative and follow through, and ability to work with multiple staff on numerous tasks.
The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting large and mid-size manufacturing and commercial customers for participation in a local utility sponsored energy efficiency program. A significant portion of the candidate?s responsibilities will be dedicated to customer recruitment, engagement and successful facilitation of energy efficiency projects. The candidate must have strong customer relationship development and sales abilities.
The candidate will be responsible for conducting energy audits and preparing scoping reports at medium to large industrial facilities (from a wide variety of manufacturing, assembly, and process industry types) to identify and recommend energy efficiency improvements in industrial systems such as but not limited to: compressed air, refrigeration, process heating/cooling, plastic molding or forming, boilers, pumping, food processing, lighting, and HVAC.
This is a telecommuter position and it is expected the candidate will be based in eastern Oregon (i.e. Pendleton, the Boardman, Hermiston, area) and be able to serve customers in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the management of DSM programs to ensure compliance with the contract, regulatory requirements, and operating budget.
Recruit large and mid-size manufacturing and agricultural customers for participation in utility sponsored energy efficiency program.
Promptly and accurately address client concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships.
Understand the program?s decision-making process to work with stakeholders in determining project eligibility, schedule and potential energy savings.
Conduct energy audits (both scoping- and investment-grade) at small, medium, and large industrial facilities (from a wide variety of manufacturing, assembly, and process industry types) to identify and recommend energy efficiency improvements in systems such as but not limited to: compressed air, refrigeration, process heating/cooling, plastic molding or forming, boilers, pumping, food processing, lighting, and HVAC
Provide technical assistance to support energy efficient project implementation in industrial applications
Write technical reports summarize results from energy audits to recommend savings amounts and incentive payments
Maintain quality control of Nexant deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules
Maintain quality control of subcontractor energy consultant deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules
Conduct measurement and verification tasks as warranted
Meet with clients to co-manage projects, present results, and develop new scopes of work
Meet with subcontractor energy consultants to co-manage projects, review and present results, and develop new scopes of work
Meet overall project budgets and profitability targets
Facilitate program progress reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Bachelor in Business Administration or Engineering, Master's degree preferred
PE strongly preferred or intent to pursue
Minimum of 5 years work experience within the industrial HVAC design, commissioning, energy management, facility management, and/or energy efficiency industry.
Strong customer relationship and development, and sales skills is a must
A strong understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical systems and principals, thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer
Demonstrated experience in energy auditing and performing associated measures analysis in industrial applications
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets
Cost estimating for recommended projects
Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills
Experience in the following areas is a plus:
Process heating and cooling systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building automation systems
Perform commissioning and/or retro-commissioning of industrial systems (compressed air, refrigeration, process loads, etc.)
Building and energy modeling/simulation tools (e.g. Trace, DOE-2, eQuest)
Calculation of energy savings for commercial HVAC and/or industrial process energy efficiency improvements.
