Senior Project Development Engineer PHT

Position Summary:This position is in a team of 5 - 8 Project Development engineers. Primary responsibility is to serve as the Project Developer team member on one or more cross functional Project Teams. For each Project Team, the Engineer will be responsible for developing and helping to successfully deliver a project specific highly interactive LogPad/SitePad application for clinical research data acquisition and data management that is deployed onto PDAs and PC Tablets which are distributed worldwide. Provide technical leadership to more junior engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop and deploy LogPad and SitePad client applications according to specifications
Integrate LogPad and SitePad applications with the StudyWorks project specific databases
Participate as the software development member of a project team lead by a Project Manager and including contributors from SQE and Data Delivery
Contribute to the development of specifications, planning and deployment scheduling process and fulfill software development steps in a timely manner
Update and improve the functionality of standard libraries and development of semi-custom implementations for specific clients
Adhere to relevant PHT SOPs
Work closely with Product Development and Product Management on establishing requirements for new Product features as well as designing, developing and beta-testing new technologies
Mentor other new or more junior engineers
Provide peer reviews of code developed by other engineers
Provide technical expertise to other non-technical groups within PHT
Establish Best Practices
Help identify and drive the establishment of tools or others efforts which could increase the efficiency of delivering projects
Education Minimum:Four year Computer Sciences Degree or equivalent experience.
Re Required Skills and Experience:
4-7 years of C/C++ application development experience using C/C++ or Java involving all aspects of the application
Full software development experience, from specification to delivery
Independent, responsible individual who can rapidly develop quality applications
Ability to learn quickly, work in a team environment, and demonstrate a quality attitude
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to interact with customers on teleconferences and in-person meetings
Hi Highly Desirable:
Experience developing applications on hand-held devices or in environments where programming constraints limit use of memory and system resources
Java development experience
Experience developing applications with XML, HTML CSS, JavaScript and other Web technologies
Experience developing software for clinical trials or the pharmaceutical industry.
Developing software in a regulated environment (ISO 9001, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
