About the Job
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer for our Malvern, PA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical engineering support and leadership for Nexant?s Planning & Evaluation Group inside the Demand Management business unit. Specific responsibilities will include: performing energy engineering services for utility and end-use clients, reviewing electric and gas energy efficiency projects, conducting onsite field inspections, installing field monitoring equipment, and other related tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) activities for installed energy efficiency measures
Conduct impact evaluations and cost-effectiveness analyses for energy efficiency programs
Write reports to summarize results from M&V and evaluation activities.
Provide technical engineering support and mentoring to junior-level engineers
Maintain quality control of deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules.
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, architectural, electrical engineering, or similar
From 4 to 6 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industry
An understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC), thermodynamics, and heat transfer
Energy auditing and measurement and verification experience in the Residential, Commercial and Industrial sectors
Experience conducting impact evaluations a plus
Excellent writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills
P.E. and C.E.M. (or on track to receive) is desirable
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems is a plus
Experience in energy modeling is a plus
Experience in database programming in Microsoft Access or Visual Basic a plus
