About the Job
We are seeking an experienced leader in energy efficiency, energy management and green buildings applications to oversee the Demand Management ? Energy Efficiency team in our Houston, Texas office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of professional staff including project management and engineering staff in supporting demand side management programs for utility, state, and end-use clients. Our clients include public agencies, investor-owned utilities administering ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs, energy end-users, and energy service companies. This candidate will have at least 10 years of professional working experience within the energy efficiency industry in a utility environment or similar.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing staff who are reviewing energy efficiency projects, conducting energy engineering analysis, and writing reports. Additional duties include maintaining client relationships and developing new business. Successful candidates must demonstrate ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position. Our clients include public agencies, private and investor-owned utilities administering ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs, energy end users and energy service companies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage a team of three to six professional staff on energy efficiency projects
Develop new business opportunities
Oversee technical and financial analysis of projects
Maintain quality control of all deliverable products demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules
Meet overall budget and profitability targets
Quantify needs and secure overall staffing needs and related resource requirements
Responsible for quality of services and products, contract compliance, and performance measures while maintaining project deliverable schedules for work managed by the office
Meet with clients to co-manage projects, present results and develop new scopes of work
Conduct employee performance evaluations and oversee overall staff development (e.g., project management skills, technical capabilities)
Demonstrate best efforts to achieve overall company and business unit performance goals, project performance measures, billability measures, and individual performance measures (e.g., productivity, quality of work, attitude, professionalism) as set by the company and specified in the Annual Development Plan and the Employee Performance Evaluation.
Qualifications
Masters technical degree or MBA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of professional working experience as a senior level project manager or engineering manager within the energy, energy efficiency, utility, design/build, or environment sector
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets while maintaining exceptional quality control
Excellent writing, oral, interpersonal, presentation, organizational and analytical skills
Capacity and understanding needed to run a business
Ability to meet aggressive business goals
Ability to lead and delegate staff and responsibilities
