POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for project delivery. This is achieved by providing consultant guidance to internal and external teams and serving as the delivery consultant to meet client expectations on projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Project Delivery Responsibilities:
Plan client engagement activities such as kick-off meetings and serve as the single point of contact for clients
Manage delivery to project plans, including resources, schedules and budgets
Identify and challenge scope and work estimates that seem extraordinary, providing acceptable alternatives as needed
Understand contractual obligations outlined in the statement of work to ensure effective and timely scope management
Identify and mitigate project risks
Delegate project deliverables to project resources and ensure timely completion to agreed project dates
Manage delivery team performance and serve as the first point of escalation for issues
Project Operations Responsibilities:
Perform weekly project re-planning using the baseline plan to ensure delivery dates are met
Institute rigorous process of inspection of project deliverables and team activities to accurately track project status, quality, issues and task estimates to complete
Ensure that all project resources are following the standard implementation methodologies and controls for successful implementations
Coordinate project activities and deliverables between the U.S., India and partner resources
Conduct regular client and internal status reporting meetings to communicate project schedules and deliverables to all resources
Manage client invoicing in accordance with the Statement of Work and project delivery schedule
Monitor project budget (cost and hours) and manage profit and loss margin
Ensure timely acceptance of client deliverables to accurately manage revenue recognition
Conduct post-implementation assessment to document implementation success criteria and best practices to be leveraged for future project implementations
Understand and manage technology elements impacting project schedule
Understand system development life cycle, relational databases, reporting, application configuration/system integrations, data migrations, environments, and quality assurance
Additional Responsibilities:
Acquire functional knowledge of Datacert products in each implementation to guide team members effectively in future/similar projects
Perform business analyst role and responsibilities when needed
Perform quality assurance tasks when needed
Understand business analysis and quality assurance best practices
Encourage productive discussions for solutions and knowledge sharing within the team and the department
Foster team spirit within the team and across teams within the department
Plan for the most effective use of team resources leading to a highly effective and productive team
Resolve priority conflicts and come up with amicable solutions for clients and team members
Attend seminars and web events to maintain professional and industry knowledge
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses and Certifications:
Bachelor?s degree required preferably in business, finance, accounting, MIS, computer science or a related field
PMP certification is preferred
Experience:
Minimum 6 years of project management experience of which a minimum of 4 years? experience in implementing solutions related to information technology is required
Minimum 6 years of functional or technical experience in the role of a business analyst, quality assurance analyst or technical developer
Experience with RUP or other similar implementation/development processes
Experience working with relational databases
Experience in managing multiple external clients
Experience in leading projects/implementations related to configurable products with simple to complex integrations with other applications used by clients
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
Excellent project management knowledge and skills
Strong professional consulting skills (i.e. negotiation, client relationship management, scope management)
Ability to leverage internal tools and policies for optimal financial roll-up, time tracking and milestone management
Effective verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to conduct presentations and facilitate client meetings
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong MS Office and MS Project
Understanding of relational databases
Understanding of automated testing tools and processes
Understanding of RUP development
Demonstrated leadership attributes such as critical and strategic thinking, understanding and executing organizational goals, fostering positive attitude in the team and coaching project resources to delivery
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
Demonstrated industry thought leadership
Ability to work with virtual teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude
Ability to be a results-oriented self-starter requiring minimal supervision
Legal industry knowledge strongly preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR INFORMATION
Ability to travel up to 80% at any given time
Platform based development experience
J2EE understanding
Compliance with company and department policies including but not limited to accurate, timely and complete data tracking in Datacert?s system(s) of record, adherence to IT information security and HR policies
