We're looking for a Senior Project Manager who is highly technical and can understand the intricate details of our projects, clearly communicate project status to all levels of the organization, and challenge our approaches to improve our time to market. We'd like this person to establish (and grow) a project visualization framework that the entire organization can leverage to understand on-track/off-track status, risks faced, underlying assumptions, and overall impact to changes in various levels of the project plan. Reporting directly to the CTO and enjoying the full support of Sr. Management the Project Manager will have few impediments to success, full autonomy, very high visibility, full intra-company exposure and effect, and the charge of optimizing our delivery.
Our Technology team is currently building the world?s largest and most efficacious adaptive learning platform. We are constantly investigating and integrating new technologies that we use and the approaches that we take to deploy our solutions as quickly as possible to our customers. As our organization and systems grow, integrating the shop?s growth with the product vision and managing dependencies among the underlying subcomponents becomes both increasingly complex and critical.
Works closely with executive staff to establish portfolio scorecard and project plan visualization standards
Works with cross-functional teams to remove blockers, resolve issues, and flag risks; strong dependency management
Risk management - assess and track all risks and issues. Define impact/probability and mitigation plan for all risks working with technical and product leads
Leads evaluation of new requests and impact assessments.
Leads evaluation of changes in scope to committed projects and proper communication to management
Owns updates to and communication of portfolio roadmap based on product vision, priority (both product and tech), resource allocations, dependencies, risks management, etc.
Imparts knowledge and expertise to the team related to agile development, as necessary
Develops and manages end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
Drives internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions
3+ years of project management experience
Ability to understand complex technical domains
Strong technical background and experience leading technical project teams
Experience managing projects across small teams
Executive level analysis, presentations, ability to synthesize multiple viewpoints and summarize effectively
Experience in software development and management methodologies : Lean, Agile, Spiral, Scrum, Critical Path Method
Strong communication skills and experience working with highly diverse technical teams
Ability to build consensus and drive progress among passionate, talented, and opinionated groups
Strong organizational and coordination skills to get things done in a fast paced environment
