Senior QA Automation Engineer NameMedia

Position Summary

Namemedia is looking for QA Automation star to assist in delivering high-quality, high-visibility, high-traffic customer facing web sites and company-internal web applications. The successful candidate will have a passion for designing, building and executing automated tests against Java and Web applications. The individual will work with the team to identify and implement best practices to ensure the software performs as expected and will be an integral part of all team deliverables. This is a fast paced, high energy environment.

The role requires an ability to be a hands-on QA engineer as well.

Primary Responsibilities

- Developing and maintaining automation framework
- Developing and executing automation and effectively communicating automated test results
- Partnering with development on component level testing
- Bug tracking and validation basing upon project goals and priorities/criteria
- Verify usability, function, performance and scalability

Job Requirements

- 5+ years experience providing QA Automation services for high-traffic, mission critical, Internet applications
- Experience testing AJAX-enabled applications
- Expert in automated testing of dynamic web sites and applications based on Java/ Linux/MySql technologies.
- Extensive automation experience with functional, regression, and performance testing tools (SilkTest, Selenium, SilkPerformer, JUnit, WAPT).
- Experience with Behavior (or Test) Driven Development frameworks.
- Must be well versed in QA methodology and quality metrics.
- Experience with Java, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Expert in cross-browser testing (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome).
- Experience with RDBMS is preferred; MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and persuasively on technical issues and their alternatives is required.
- Self-motivated, thrives in an intense, dynamic environment.
- Has a proven track record of continuous QA Automation improvements.
- Candidate should also possess the ability to work under pressure with extreme deadlines, prioritize projects, and maintain focus and sense of humor.
- Should be innovative, a creative and quick thinker, a fast learner, take pride in a work, assertive with a commitment to product quality, and a team player.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in testing web applications required
