Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Job Site: Cambridge, Massachusetts but may telecommute from home
Responsible for developing test strategies and automating test cases to validate different aspects of company's players, ads, and 3rd party integrations on both HTML and Adobe Flash platforms. May include building or augmenting test frameworks to support the automation. Identify means to minimize the cost of regression testing. Work closely with software developers on agile development team to iteratively plan and build test strategies with emphasis on scripting test automation for highly performant, reliable and customizable video players. Work with members of the agile team to identify use case scenarios and define acceptance criteria. Work with Agile team to identify root causes of issues and prevent recurrences of bugs. May make process improvement recommendations as well as testing and code improvements. Provide testing and automation expertise to mentor less experienced test engineers and provide test support to developers. Will code Java, Javascript, and/or Flex automation suites; test HTML, Flash and/or Flex UIs for video players; configure and maintain Linux, Windows, and Macintosh based test systems; test environment utilizing SQL and XML; and update or create test frameworks to support automation. Allowed to telecommute from home.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field PLUS five (5) years progressive software QA experience in a Java/Linux and Windows environment (Apache, Tomcat, Oracle)
- Experience must include demonstrated knowledge of scripting test automation, SQL and XML, coding with one or more of Java/ActionScript/JavaScript, and testing HTML, Flash and/or Flex based UIs.
- Will also accept Masters degree and two (2) years stated experience in lieu of Bachelors + 5.
