Boingo?s Quality Assurance team is an integral part of the software delivery process at Boingo Wireless and if you have a passion for working for cutting edge technologies in Wireless/Mobile Internet space, we have something for you in our QA Department. We are looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer with strong web site, Mobile Devices and application testing background to join our QA team.Responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans based on requirement documents and design documents
Participate in project meetings and provide feedback on all requirements and design documents.
Write detail bug reports and test reports and escalate issues to developers and management as necessary.
Understand technical aspects of the software testing, debugging and analysis of results.
Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes, work independently or in a team setting in a fast paced environment.
Interact with various database systems, including Microsoft SQL server and MySQL.
Participating in full life cycle development.
Maintain QA environment for testing web applications including setting up Wi-Fi Networks for testing.
Work cross-functionally within the Engineering and Operations organization to resolve problems, deploy and release new products and create solutions to provide world class service, solutions and support.
Assist in managing and supporting 300+ Linux servers that run Oracle, Apache, Tomcat, and custom services in a 24x7 environment.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Science degree in computer science or related major.
5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in testing web based applications using different devices (smart phones, tablets, laptops). Hands-On knowledge of HTML/HTTP/XML, JavaScript, CSS and Browsers.
Quick learner, self-motivated, multi-tasker and able to take initiatives to improve products, tools and processes in a dynamic working environment.
Understanding of Software Testing Methodologies (SDLC, Agile/Scrum), JIRA and Automation Tools.
Understanding of Networking Protocols (TCP/IP) and Wi-Fi concepts and related technologies (WLAN, 802.11, Radius, Security).
