Supports the Quality Management system and Customers with investigation of non-conformances, low yields and recommends and implements corrective and preventive actions. Assures customer requirements are documented and met by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensures compliance with our QMS system and AS9100 Quality Certification
Oversees and directs the Metrology Function providing process improvement and analysis of results as required.
Ensures the timely processing of all NCR?s (Nonconformance Reports).
Oversees and directs the Receiving inspection activities.
Oversees and directs the Metallurgy activities and the calibration inspections activities.
Insures the Statistical Process Control (SPC) is utilized with the manufacturing organization, where applicable.
Facilitates the implementation of corrective actions and conducts audits to ensure validation of results.
Performs internal quality systems audits.
Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
Maintains and provides supplier base performance data and reporting.
Directly supervises 2-3 employees in the Quality Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or related technical field from four-year college or university and 10 years related experience. ASQ certification as a CQE or CQA.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or employees. Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, employees, and/or boards of directors. Ability to prepare and present documents such as PPAPs. Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
Mathematical Skills Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems. Must have a thorough understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Understanding and experienced with SPC, DOE, and FMEA methodology.
