Labcyte Inc. seeks a highly motivated candidate to join its R&D team. This position will report to the Director of Chemistry R&D and involves the research and development for testing novel low volume dispensing instruments in the nanoliter regime that provides high speed, non-contact dispensing. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks associated with instrument calibration and robustness testing of the instruments. The work will involve a range of testing performed at the systems level to probe the effects of chemical, mechanical and software changes to enhance performance of the acoustic droplet ejection technology for fluidic transfers.
Qualified candidates must be able to work independently and as a member of multi-disciplined development teams, executing tasks on time and to specification. Development responsibilities may include instrument calibration, design and testing of laboratory consumables, design verification testing, applications support, business development support and technology transfer to manufacturing.

Position Requirements:
BS/MS/PhD in Chemical/Mechanical/Bio Engineering or Chemistry/Physics/ Appied Physics with 7+/5+/2+ years of industrial experience.
Hands on approach with superior problem solving skills
Analytical, methodical, and detail-oriented in planning, experimentation, and analysis
Ability to integrate, test, and troubleshoot fluidics, mechanical, and software subsystems
Proficient in computer skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and safety
Proficient in statistical analysis
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
Experience with laboratory liquid handling and automation equipment
Experience with life sciences & life science instrumentation
Experience with Matlab or similar engineering analysis tools
Experience with Visual Basic to write Macros and test routines
Experience using Statistics and/or DOE methods for process optimization
