Senior R&D Solid-State Laser Physicist/Engineer Princeton Optronics
Princeton Optronics is a privately held company engaged in the development of solid-state lasers and high power vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs).
We are looking for senior level laser engineer/scientist with experience in the design and development of solid-state lasers. The candidates should have technical expertise and experience in the advancement of technology for diode pumped solid-state lasers, especially in the 1 to 2 micron wavelength bands. The work will also involve working on novel techniques for high power, high efficiency coherent radiation sources and non-linear optics for intra-cavity frequency doubling.
Understanding of laser cavity design of various configurations is essential. The candidate must also have knowledge of laser material properties, both glass and crystal hosts, Gaussian beam optics, and beam coupling optics. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of theoretical and experimental aspects of the above mentioned laser systems with proven experimental and analytical capability.
For this position we prefer a PhD degree or MS degree with significant experience. Several years' hands-on experience in the related field will be very important.
We provide very competitive salaries as well as stock options. The Company provides a full benefit plan including medical, dental and 401K savings.

| Company Profile: | Princeton Optronics is a privately held, venture funded company engaged in the development and manufacture of high power vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs), low noise ultrastable lasers and tunable lasers. The company's PowersweepTM 2000 is a high power tunable laser designed for externally modulated transmitters. We have also developed transmitters using tunable lasers and ruggedizing them for military applications with DoD funding.
Princeton Optronics was founded in 1993 and has since been working in various cutting edge technology areas including low noise lasers, VCSELs and high power laser products, mostly with Venture Capital and DoD funding.
Breakthrough research in Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers, low noise ultrastable lasers and tunable laser topologies, an outgrowth of DOD sponsored research, prompted the company to seek venture funding to focus on the market demand for tunable source components and sub-systems. The company has strong financial backing from leading venture investors to accelerate its commercial development process. These investors include Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Technology Venture Partners. |
