HowAboutWe Dating is the offline dating site. Members post date ideas, connect, and meet - offline.
HowAboutWe for Couples helps couples have wonderful experiences together. Members choose from our curated collection of one-of-a-kind experiences for two; we take care of all the booking. It's the must-have membership for the modern couple.
The Date Report provides engaging, entertaining and enlightening content about dating and relationships.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an expert, performance-minded Rails developer who can help us take our sites to the next level in terms of scaling, speed, and algorithmic optimization. We have major projects involving ElasticSearch, large database refactors, caching, and implementing personalization features that can work under millions of pageviews.
As a smart, creative, and independent engineer, you want to have a large impact on our products. Your contributions will span the entire product lifecycle from weighing in on design to anchoring rapid agile feature development. You are a skillful practitioner of agile development practices. You want to be building web apps apps that are used by millions of people. You love the vision behind HowAboutWe.
3+ years of RoR development, preferably in a high-traffic environment
Serious (but pragmatic) about TDD, and refactor aggressively.
Aware of performance trade-offs and write efficient, scalable code.
Familiar with a range of modern data stores/systems (we use MySQL, Redis, Memcache)
Full-stack or back-end developer.
Ok with pair-programming on larger stories, and rotating between projects.
Open to performing code reviews in a structured format, and having your code reviewed as well.
Think independently and love sharing your own technical solutions with others.
Smart, with CompSci degree or equivalent
